Kay-Cel Core
High Density Polyurethane Core Material
Polyurethane Panels
Kayco Composites manufactures KAY‑CEL CORE, a rigid, closed‑cell, high‑density polyurethane foam core engineered for structural performance in marine and industrial applications.
KAY‑CEL CORE is produced in two configurations: unreinforced and fiberglass‑reinforced. The reinforced variant incorporates embedded fiberglass reinforcements within the polyurethane matrix, providing increased stiffness, improved mechanical stability, and enhanced durability. Multiple reinforcement schedules are available to meet specific design and load requirements.
KAY‑CEL CORE is offered in densities from 20 to 35 lb/ft³ and thicknesses from 1/2" to 2‑1/4", supporting a wide range of fabrication needs where strength‑to‑weight optimization is critical.
Advantages:
- Excellent Strength-to-Weight ratio
- Foam Reinforced with fiberglass increases mechanical properties
- Lightweight - 30% Lighter Than Marine Plywood
- Closed Cell Cross-Linked Polymer Foam will not absorb water
- Will Not Rot...Excellent Replacement for Wood
Densities:
- Standard Densities range from 20 to 35 lb/ft3
Thicknesses:
- Thicknesses range from 1/2" to 2-1/4" in 1/4" increments
